🤩Welcome Back to The Kimberley, Harrogate!🤩

    By Gill / 15th October, 2020 / News / Off

It’s been a while since we caught up with you on here and now that we are back Open for Business, we thought we’d tell you all about our updated and amplified hygiene and safety measures in place, along with other things happening in the Hotel, as we embark on the “new normal”!

Safety screens and social distancing stickers are in place in Reception and on arrival for check in, we now ask all Guests to check their temperatures on our contactless thermometer, on the wall in Reception. We also have extra hand sanitising stations all around the Hotel. ✅

Our staff are now all in visors or masks, when not behind the screens, another new normal we are slowly getting used to and quite enjoying now (think we all secretly feel like Rocket Scientists!)😄🚀.

We are currently only using 40 or our 72 bedrooms, as an extra safety measure and when a Guest has stayed, we block the room out for 24 hours, before the Housekeepers enter.

We are only offering a limited Housekeeping service at present, so for stays under 3 nights, there is no Housekeeping service unless requested.

We do advise Guests on arrival, that should they need extra toiletries, towels or the tea tray restocking, that can all be arranged/replaced at Reception.

We are proud to be Green here at The Kimberley and all of our toiletries are Eco-Friendly. ♻💚

We are happy to say, our Restaurant is once again Open and we are now able to offer Breakfast and Evening meals, by reservation only.

Breakfast is 7.00am & finishes at 9.30 weekdays. 7.30am to 10.00am on Saturday & Sundays. Sittings are every half hour and we request Guests to book a time slot on arrival.

Dinner is from 6.00pm until 8.30pm (last sitting) to ensure Guests are finished in line with the government restrictions, again in half hour slots.

N.B. We also have hand sanitizers on all of the tables in the Restaurant.

We are asking Residents to vacate the Bar at 10pm, again in line with government restrictions.

However, after that time, we are able to run the Mini Bar from Reception for Guests wanting to take drinks to their rooms.

Please see our temporarily reduced Menus for Breakfast and Evening meals below, along with Drinks available to purchase from Reception when our Bar is closed. 🍴🍷

N.B. Our Bistro Menu is subject to change and may slightly differ during your stay, depending on available produce that week.

We’re loving being able to welcome Guests to stay with us once more and have been blessed to receive some glowing reviews since opening back up, post-lockdown.🥰

We currently have a Flash Sale running this month for you to take advantage of (see our Facebook page for more details) and we greatly look forward to welcoming you to Harrogate in the near future.☺

Thank you so much for your continued support and patience through these difficult times, we couldn’t have gotten through it without you all! ❤

    Fabulous Flamborough 🏞🌅🏖🐧

    By IT3000 / 25th July, 2019 / News / Off

Flamborough is a pretty seaside village in the East Riding of Yorkshire. It is situated approximately 4 miles north-east of Bridlington, on the prominent coastal feature of Flamborough Head.
With a stretch of rugged white cliffs and the long sandy beaches of either North or South Landing, Flamborough Head is an outdoor lover’s paradise!

With a scenic nature reserve and two ancient lighthouses nearby, this Special Area of Conservation is a haven for anyone looking to explore the Yorkshire Coast at its most wild and untamed.

On our recent day trip here, we headed for North Landing, where there is a spacious (payable) car park for visitors and a large cafe and bar, which caters for all, throughout the day.
We had brought a picnic lunch, as the weather was nice, so we proceeded to walk along the hiking route here and found a lovely bench to have lunch on, with gorgeous panoramic views across Flamborough coastline and North Landing beach!

After lunch, we continued walking along the clifftops for a short while, spotting some interesting and unique plants and wildlife along the way, whilst taking in the awe-inspiring scenery too of course!

Seeing the sandy beach below, we decided we had to go explore!
The walk down itself, is so picturesque, with the RNLI Flamborough Lifeboat Station and Old Lifeboat House situated here, which is now open for visitors (opening times vary).

Please note, the hill/walk down to the beach is quite steep, so be prepared to get those leg muscles working!
The views however, are second to none and well worth the walk.

Flamborough beaches are famous for their stoney white pebbles, strewn across the beach, which make for great fun building towers.
We even took some home with us to make our very own Flamborough rock feature!

After exploring North Landing, we took a short drive over to the Flamborough Head Lighthouse, which remains a working lighthouse!
Climb the 119 steps for stunning views over Bridlington, with useful and interesting commentary on how a lighthouse works and this one’s particular history. The tours last about 20 minutes and run daily during summer (except Sundays).

Also here, just along from the current lighthouse, is the old Chalk Tower Lighthouse.
This was the first lighthouse, built by Sir John Clayton, completed in 1674 and is one of the oldest surviving complete lighthouses in England.
Built from chalk, it was never lit. This is now a Grade II listed building and well worth a visit!

Just a short drive from the Lighthouses, are Bempton Cliffs and the famous Flamborough Puffins, which we shall be returning to see soon!

Golf fans will particularly love Flamborough Head Golf Course, set adjacent to the Chalk Tower Lighthouse, with sweeping, panoramic views across Flamborough coast!

Flamborough even has it’s own train station, so is accessible via many means of transport.

With the heatwave we’re currently enjoying, it’s the perfect time to visit, so pack your suncream and hats and buckets and spades and make Flamborough your Summer day trip destination on your next stay with us or visit to Yorkshire this year!
