Food & Beverage Assistant

The Kimberley Hotel is seeking a Food & Beverage Assistant to help welcome our guests in a warm and friendly manner, attending to their needs throughout their stay. Working as part of our Food and Beverage team, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to comfortable dining and providing excellent customer service at all times. Your Key Responsibilities Include:-
•Applicant must be 18 years old or over due to serving alcohol.
•To greet all guests is a warm and courteous manner and to ensure that their needs are met.
•Help to serve behind the lounge bar during dinner service.
•To help take guest orders and serve them promptly and efficiently in line with the departments standards.
•To ensure that the work area is ready for service and that all mis-en-place is in place.
•To ensure that all glassware and crockery are washed, polished and stored correctly as per the departments standards.
•To set up the restaurant, meeting rooms and tea and coffee stations as per the departments’ standards.

This position is permanent and it will be contracted to 30-35 hours per week, however there will be scope to gain more hours during busy periods. The hours for this role is predominately 6:30 am – 12:00pm & 5:30pm – 11pm covering both breakfast and dinner service, including some weekends and most bank holidays including Christmas (additional rate of pay).Salary:

Salary: £7.50 – £8.20 per hour dependant on experience plus a split of gratuities.

Night Porter

A permanent position for a Hotel Night Porter has become available in our busy 72 bedroomed hotel situated in the centre of Harrogate. As Night Porter you will be working 5/7 nights per week between the hours of 22:450 and 07:00hr, including weekends and Bank Holidays.

The successful applicant will be smart, polite, honest, responsible and able to work effectively unsupervised. You must be reliable and a good timekeeper with means of getting to and from work.

Previous experience in a similar role is very beneficial but not essential as training will be given.

Duties include:

•To handle all queries promptly in a professional manner ensuring the customer receives a friendly and efficient response which accurately meet their demands and respecting their privacy.

•To set up conference and meeting rooms to the company standard when required.
•To carry out night security checks and car park patrols at the agreed times.
•To serve drinks upon request to residents.
•To undertake the out-of-hours check in and out of guests, ensuring that all accounts are settles before departure.
•To ensure that the public areas of the hotel are clean and tidy at all times.
•To help set the breakfast room.
•To carry out all guests wake up calls on time as requested.
•To report any maintenance defects to Management immediately.
•The highest standards of personal health and hygiene to be maintained at all times.
•Any other reasonable request made by a manager of the company.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £8.20-8.70 per hour – dependant on experience
